Fortunately for me, my fave characters were not axed so I was able to watch Kieran and Zachary work their way out of the Devil’s School for Wayward Youth my title, not Cyn’s and live to see another day. Now, though, she’s sitting in the Penultimate, a sort of purgatory for Heaven which I’ll talk about more later, surrounded by all of these people she killed. They are going to try to make her leave. What do you think? But to do so, Zachary puts himself and his friends at terrible risk. Still early in her career, she has shown tremendous range and loves to experiment.
In book 3, Blessedthe Count himself is summoned from the ether to merge briefly with the antagonist, and in book 4, Diabolicalwe go to the Scholomance, the famed school where the Count was said to have learned his evil ways. I also am not a huge fan of jumping from one person point of view to another and it happens a lot in this series, but I learned to deal with it.
Our other couple, Kieren and Quince, are much more interesting. The point-of-view alternated with each chapter between three characters: I got a particular chuckle out of the nod to Charlotte’s Web. And of course Miranda in reunited with him too. You can almost smell the surroundings, and even feel what the characters are feeling. We are once again reunited with characters we have grown to love in the previous books of this series, and this particular book did not disappoint.
I have read all 4 books in the Tantalize series, but this is my first review. Okay, I want to end my review with something more positive, so I’ll go back to the beginning of the book again.
Heaven and Hell collide in Smith’s latest tantalizing installment Diabolical. In some cases, the action they take to face their previous choices results in death and Cyn doesn’t shy away from the fatal choice, if it makes sense for the character and the story.

In this book, the main focus returns to Zachary and Miranda. Installment four in Cynthia Leitich Smith’s gothic series returns the reader to the format of book two, which, for those who haven’t read it, means that the story is told from multiple points of view. The building towards the end is the perfect way to end the series and will satisfy all of your heaven vs. When Miranda, watching her friends on Earth from the Penultimate after her death, notices that her best friend Lucy is in trouble, she sends word below to try and get her to safety.
Lucy’s a plot point and that’s all there is to it.
True fans of Cynthia Leitich Smith will immediately fall in love with this story. So what d So I gave this book away last month, but I haven’t properly smity it because I was mid-reading it at the time. Familiar characters as well as plenty of interesting new ones to be found in the latest book o Book 4 in the Tantalize series.
About the different points of view you use in the books, how did you choose which characters to show the story through, and when you were writing more than one in the same novel, how did you keep their voices different? Quincie, Kieren and Zachary are still working at Sanguinis, the vampire themed restaurant where Zachary, a slipped angel works at saving neophytes whom he considers to be redeemable.

This book is what I consider a light read and it moves very quickly. She gave us insight into the afterlife while the other two were down on earth and then in hell. They make me throw cynthoa a little in my mouth. The one person who seemed to be really upset with her had their scene cut short. But, Lucy doesn’t know all that.
Steam comes off the pages in this one. They plan to get in, talk Lucy into leaving and then to get her out. Everyone is back in the final lritich. Together, this menagerie of magical creatures pretend to enlist at this spooky academy in order to protect another friend, Lucy, who has recently enrolled and whose life may be in peril due to siabolical supernatural shenanigans that occur… For readers who are thirsting for more dark, paranormal fiction, this novel fits the bill. Elevated and adopted by none other than the reigning King of the Mantle of Dracul, Miranda goes from high-school theater wannabe to glamorous royal fiend overnight.
Smith wraps up the series with the perfect ending. In some cases, the action they take to face diabolicla previous choice I always enjoy the layers of Cyn Leitich-Smith’s books. Smith’s prose is fast-paced and funny and I found it hard to put the book down or, This series just keeps getting better and leifich I may read other books in this series if I came across them by chance, but I’m not going to go seeking them out.
